In 2010 and 2011 Bob organized more than 50 group lunches and a dozen happy hours to try to get college employees to mix better at the District Office. He invited anyone who wanted to attend and specifically invited Directors and Administrators that the Director-who-later-hated-him wanted to meet. A core group attended the events and Bob considered them his friends -- even if they were only his office friends.
Then, at their ERP vendor's annual conference...
In 2012 Bob was excluded from a team happy hour and dinner by the core group.
In 2013 Bob was ditched by his colleagues as they went out on the town together.
In 2014 Bob did not even register for the conference since everyone else from the college who was attending the conference was part of the core group who had excluded or ditched him in the prior two conferences.
