Bullies seem to be surprised when their target, or their co-workers say something to them (or create a website) about their inappropriate behavior. They tell the target, "You shouldn't notice that!" or "You shouldn't keep score like that!" or "You shouldn't care so much!" (all statements made to me...)
Bullies seem to think their behavior is invisible and cannot be seen by others. But their behavior IS seen by others and commented and remarked upon.
Surveys say that 20% of a bully's co-workers leave their job due to just being around the bullying behavior. And, indeed, several good people I know have left the college due to the bullying they have witnessed here.
Bullies, and their supporters, should realize that just because nobody is saying anything to you about your behavior doesn't mean nobody noticed. You are not invisible just because you want to be.
When I first started working in the District Office, the bully's group of friends was sarcastically called by many in my department, "the cool kids" because of their dismissive attitude towards others who were not part of their group.
